Texas Flood: Final Missing Girl Found, But Mystery Deepens

After weeks of searching, officials confirmed the last missing girl from Camp Mystic has been found—dead, nearly five miles from camp. A veteran rescuer discovered her body under debris, clutching a strange object.

Overwhelmed, he “dropped to his knees… silent, with his head in his hands.” A senior official later recalled, “He told me in a whisper, ‘This one… this face…’ and then just shut down.”

A leaked photo—meant for ID—sparked national outrage. It showed the girl’s mouth parted in a scream, eyes open, and beads in her hair not given out at camp. One question echoed online: “What did she see right before the end?”

Investigators are now analyzing a fabric scrap found in her hand. Unconfirmed reports suggest more girls may still be missing.

A grieving mother said, “I almost wish they hadn’t found her. Because this feels like it’s not the end.”
