Man Dies After Being Pulled Into MRI Machine by Metal Chain
Keith McAllister, 61, died after a horrifying accident at Nassau Open MRI on Long Island on July 16, 2025.
While helping his wife Adrienne off the MRI table, McAllister—who was wearing a heavy metal chain—was suddenly pulled
into the powerful magnetic field of the machine. The force yanked him violently toward the scanner, causing
serious injuries that led to multiple heart attacks. He passed away the next day despite emergency medical efforts.
Adrienne, who had just completed her scan, recalled the terrifying moment when a technician called her husband into the room.
Within seconds, the magnetic pull of the machine latched onto the chain around his neck. She and the technician
desperately tried to free him but couldn’t succeed until emergency responders arrived nearly an hour later.
The tragedy has sparked widespread attention, and many have questioned the safety protocols in place at the facility.
Their daughter, Samantha Bodden, launched a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses and address misinformation circulating online.
The family is devastated, with Adrienne describing her grief as unbearable. They are calling for accountability and answers as authorities
continue to investigate the circumstances of this preventable incident. Our thoughts are with them during this heartbreaking time.
