Nine Myrtle Beach–area teens have been charged in the June 24, 2025, killing of 16-year-old Trey Dean Wright near Johnsonville. Authorities say the group acted together in a planned confrontation under South Carolina’s “hand of one, hand of all” law.
Wright was shot after a fight with 19-year-old Devan Raper, who has been jailed without bond on murder and weapon charges. Wright’s girlfriend, 17-year-old Gianna Kistenmacher, was later charged as an accessory for allegedly luring him to the scene. Several others, including Hunter Matthew Kendall, Sydney Marissa Kearns, and Corrinne Elizabeth Belviso, now face murder charges, with more arrests expected.
Officials say the dispute was over a girl and confirmed the incident was caught on video. Friends described Wright as a kind, funny athlete who loved the outdoors. His family held a celebration of life on July 3, while a GoFundMe raised over $6,000 to cover funeral expenses.
