Kelly Pierce, 43, a beloved Arizona soccer coach and devoted mother of three, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2025. As head coach of Salpointe
Catholic High School’s girls’ soccer team, she led them to six state championships, inspiring countless athletes with her passion and leadership.
Balancing single motherhood with coaching, Kelly raised her sons—Tyler, Brady, and Camden—while building a respected career.
In a March 2025 radio interview, she shared the challenges and joys of managing family and coaching duties, endearing herself to many.
Her two-decade coaching career included roles at Mountain View High School and FC Tucson Women, where she was remembered as a strategic thinker,
motivating leader, and advocate for gender equality in sports. “She was a talented and charismatic leader,” said FC Tucson Founder Jon Pearlman.
Following her passing, the community rallied to support her family, raising over $44,000 for a trust fund benefiting Brady and Camden.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 9, at 4 p.m. at the Salpointe Catholic Gymnasium in Tucson.
Kelly’s legacy endures through the athletes she mentored, the community she strengthened, and the family she cherished.
