Brandon Blackstock Dies at 48 After Cancer Battle
Brandon Blackstock, Hollywood talent manager and former husband of singer Kelly Clarkson, died on August 7, 2025, at 48, following a three-year
cancer battle. His family said he passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, and requested privacy while thanking the public for their support.
Blackstock shared two children with Clarkson — River Rose, 11, and Remington Alexander,
9 — and had two older children, Savannah and Seth, from a previous marriage. The stepson of country legend
Reba McEntire, he managed Clarkson’s career during their marriage and represented artists like Blake Shelton.
He met Clarkson in 2006, reconnected at the 2012 Super Bowl, and married her in 2013. She has credited him with inspiring
her song Piece by Piece. Their marriage ended in divorce in 2022 after a seven-year union, though they remained committed to co-parenting.
In his final days, Clarkson postponed her Las Vegas residency to be with their children. Blackstock is remembered for his music industry accomplishments,
dedication to family, and lasting friendships. His passing marks a profound loss to those who loved him and the artists he guided throughout his career.
